Dear Betty,

I feel very fortunate to retain the Insurance, P&C category for the Ephrata PRE Chapter. October will celebrate my 5th year of membership in this indispensable group. As it approaches, I reflect on the impact that it has made in both my professional career and personal life.

Anyone will tell you, referrals are the best way to expand your business. In this day of technology, instant gratification, fraud, identity theft and automated everything, people still rely on word of mouth to find vendors. They want to know and trust the people they deal with. They rely on friends, family and coworkers to hear good testimonials and referrals. That is what this group is about. Getting to know your fellow members on both a professional and personal level. In this way, we can trust each other to refer business and know our clients, friends and family will be treated with the same respect and care that we give them.

Not only have I received many referrals over the years, I have gained countless benefits. One of the greatest has been the development of my public speaking skills. I can say that I was never good at public speaking. In fact, I was terrified of it. Over the years, I have gained confidence in my skills and find myself speaking at other events not limited to PRE. It has taught me leadership skills and the art positive of communication. It has developed my professionalism and sharpened my abilities as an independent professional woman.

I respect all of your hard work and support in helping us cultivate a dedicated group of individuals into a sales marketing group, focused on helping each other succeed in our businesses.
